Ex-Probation Officer Charged in Acid Attack Murder Plot Against Ex-Boyfriend

A former criminal justice worker who once helped offenders turn their lives around is now behind bars herself, accused of plotting to kill her ex-boyfriend in a chilling acid attack.

Paris Wilson Accused of Targeting Ex

Paris Wilson, 34, a mum-of-two from Plymouth, Devon, is charged with conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to kidnap, and involvement in organised crime. She allegedly teamed up with gang members to carry out a brutal acid attack on her former partner, personal trainer Danny Cahalane, 38. The horrifying incident unfolded at Mr Cahalane’s home on February 21 while his young daughter was reportedly asleep in the property.

Victim Hospitalised and Relocated

Sulphuric acid was thrown directly into Mr Cahalane’s face, leaving him with serious injuries. He remains in hospital but has since been moved out of Plymouth for his own safety. Police confirmed the attack is being treated as part of a wider plot involving a gang of at least eight individuals — with some suspects also facing drug-related charges.

From Trusted Officer to Suspect

Wilson once worked as a probation officer in Plymouth’s Barbican area, supporting former inmates with job placements and housing. She also volunteered at Dartmoor Prison, teaching literacy skills to male prisoners. Her access to secure facilities and close ties with ex-offenders make her alleged involvement in the attack even more shocking. “Paris was trusted to access the prison and worked closely with inmates. Nobody can believe she’s now locked up,” a source told The Sun.

Court Hearing and Co-Accused

Wilson appeared before Plymouth Magistrates’ Court last week and was remanded into custody. She will next appear at Plymouth Crown Court on May 12. Seven others have been charged in connection with the case, all believed to be part of an organised crime group linked to the attack.

Police and Public Shocked

Devon and Cornwall Police have not released full details of the case but confirmed it remains an active and complex investigation. The allegations against a former justice system worker have stunned the community and raised questions about potential breaches of trust and professional conduct.

The case has reignited concerns over acid attacks in the UK, with campaigners calling for tougher sentencing and increased restrictions on the sale of corrosive substances.
