Anti-Migrant Protester Unmasked As Convicted Sex Offender

Man Behind Camera Had Dark Past
A man who filmed himself confronting asylum seekers and claimed to be protecting women and children has been unmasked as a convicted paedophile with a long history of abuse. Anthony Styles, 59, had built an online following by livestreaming anti-migrant protests across the UK, but his true identity was kept hidden—until now.

Exposed At The Heart Of Protests
Styles, who used the alias AJ Audits on YouTube, regularly attended demonstrations outside hotels housing asylum seekers. Carrying a fake press pass and a camera, he broadcast heated confrontations with police, hotel staff, and migrants, claiming to be “exposing the truth” and defending the vulnerable.

But behind the lens was a man who had been jailed for sexually abusing two underage girls. In 2017, Styles was convicted of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14. He had previously admitted assaulting a 17-year-old and was found in possession of over 500 indecent images of children. He is currently subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and remains on the sex offenders register for life.

Activists Sound The Alarm
Concerns about Styles’ presence at protests were raised by anti-racism campaigners who recognised him and dug into his background. Once confirmed, his involvement caused alarm among those attending the demonstrations—many of whom believed they were standing up to protect children. Several protest groups have since distanced themselves from him entirely.

Styles had appeared at rallies in places like Skegness, Rotherham, and Wakefield. At each one, he presented himself as a citizen journalist seeking to expose what he called the government’s “failure to protect communities.” He often claimed his goal was to safeguard women and children from danger. His past convictions stand in stark contrast to that message.

Victims And Justice Delayed
One of the most serious cases dates back to 1993, when Styles sexually assaulted a young girl in Blackpool who was known to him. Though the incident happened decades ago, it took years for the victim to come forward and for Styles to face justice. The court at the time described it as a serious abuse of trust. Another victim, aged 17, was targeted five years earlier.

While he served time for his crimes, his re-emergence as a public-facing figure at protests has raised questions about how easily those with hidden pasts can attach themselves to political causes.

A Movement Shaken
The exposure of Styles has prompted renewed scrutiny over who is participating in anti-migrant activism and what motivations lie beneath the surface. For some involved, it’s been a wake-up call. For the victims who once saw justice served, seeing their abuser back in the public eye has reopened old wounds.

This case has rattled protest circles and served as a chilling reminder: not everyone shouting the loudest has innocent intentions.
