Police were called to a Liverpool McDonald’s after an all-out street brawl erupted outside, with staff and customers trading punches in scenes caught on camera.
The violence broke out at the fast food chain on Liverpool Road, Page Moss, known locally for its poor reputation and dubbed online as “the most terrible McDonald’s in Liverpool.”
Staff and customers seen fighting in wild footage
Footage of the incident shows around a dozen people involved in chaotic clashes on the pavement. One shirtless man is heard being told to “get off me” by a McDonald’s worker, while a woman in a skirt appears to slap another man, sending him to the ground.
Elsewhere in the footage, a woman can be heard shouting “stupid little b****” as another screams “who the f*** are you touching” during the disorder.
It’s not clear what sparked the violence, but Merseyside Police confirmed officers were dispatched and one man was handcuffed at the scene. A police van was seen outside the restaurant as tempers continued to flare nearby.
McDonald’s responds to ‘unacceptable behaviour’
A spokesperson for McDonald’s confirmed the violence involved a group of customers asked to leave the premises due to antisocial behaviour. “The police were called and we are supporting them with their enquiries,” they said.
“We are also working with our restaurant team to remind them of the appropriate de-escalation processes we have in place. At McDonald’s, we have a zero-tolerance policy towards anti-social behaviour.”
Restaurant already known for bad reviews
The Page Moss branch is no stranger to criticism. Online reviews repeatedly rate it one star, with customers slamming poor service, long waits and trouble inside the restaurant. One reviewer described it as “an absolute madhouse,” while another branded it “the worst McDonald’s in Liverpool.”
Fast food fury not limited to the UK
In an unrelated incident in Canada, a notorious McDonald’s branch in Ottawa made headlines years ago after a raccoon was pulled from a man’s jacket during a violent altercation inside the restaurant. That branch has since closed.
Back in Page Moss, police are continuing to investigate last night’s incident. No arrests have yet been confirmed, but anyone with footage or further information is urged to contact Merseyside Police.
